A Perfect Winter Day at Coogee Beach with the Family

It’s been quite the “wintery” Winter here in Sydney this year. But after a couple of glorious days, with temperatures reaching the mid-twenties, the whole city seemed to come alive in response.

In the magnificent part of the world that is Coogee Beach, I spent the afternoon with my two youngest. We enjoyed lunch, explored the rocks, and spent plenty of time playing on the beach. Knowing it might be weeks (or even longer) before we get weather like this again, we made sure to fully enjoy every moment. I can only hope I captured these memories well enough to savour them.

Coogee has always been one of my favourite spots in Sydney. It’s a beautiful stretch of sand with clear blue waters, and unlike some of the busier beaches, it still has a relaxed, laid-back vibe. There’s something about walking along the coastline, taking in the stunning scenery, and listening to the waves crashing against the rocks that never gets old. It’s a great spot for families and solo adventurers alike, offering plenty of space for everyone to enjoy.

Below are a few photos from the day—playing with the kids and some beautiful shots of the beach, including one of a lone paddle-boarder. She (whoever she is) was out there all by herself, well away from the surfers. I can only imagine how amazing it must have felt to have all that space to herself.
