The great South African road trip

The great South African road trip

Embarking on a South African adventure tomorrow, we are ready to experience the wild and breathtaking beauty of the continent. Our journey starts in Johannesburg, where we rent a top-of-the-line Land Rover from Bush Lore, a trusted 4×4 safari rental company.

As we navigate through Kruger Park in the first week, we’ll stay in comfortable huts at Skukuza, Olifants Rest Camp, and Mopani Rest Camp. These locations serve as our launchpad for exploring the nearby wildlife and nature.

But the real excitement begins as we venture into the heart of Botswana. We’ll spend a few days camping under the stars and sleeping on the roof of our Land Rover in the remote southeast of the country. Our itinerary includes stops in Gweta, Kasane, Maun, and the Kalahari, where we’ll spend all day driving and game viewing in some of the most remote and beautiful national parks in Africa.

The national parks we plan to visit include Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, Nxai Pan National Park, Chobe National Park, Moremi Game Reserve (Okavango Delta), and Kalahari Game Reserve. If we’re lucky, we might even make a day trip to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.

With three weeks dedicated to this African safari, we are eagerly awaiting the experiences and memories that await us.
