Durango Fires

Durango Fires

Well I am getting more settled in here in Durango.

The past few days, there have been raging fires going on just outside of Durango, over the ridge. The plumes of smoke have been huge.

This morning I heard that the current fire had burned more than 20,000 acres.

The other day, Jeremy and I hiked part-way up the side of a mountain to get a better view of the fire at Edgemont.

Here are some photo’s I took:

Enjoy! We’re pretty safe in Durango, no threat here yet.

  1. The recent fires in Victoria came within a few miles of my hometown of Traralgon. My mum’s boyfriend’s house in Munro was also endangered but came through ok. I have some photos taken at Bairnsdale in the middle of the afternoon and you’d swear it was evening, the sky is black and all the cars have their headlights on. Scary stuff.
