Boracay Adventure: Snorkeling, Sunsets & Island Hopping

Boracay Adventure: Snorkeling, Sunsets & Island Hopping

After a business trip in Manila, Tony Kennerley and I extended our stay for a long weekend in Boracay—one of the most stunning islands in the Philippines. From the moment we arrived, the island’s mix of chaos and beauty was on full display. The streets were packed with trikes weaving through traffic, locals casually stepping onto the road without hesitation, and vendors calling out their latest deals. It was all part of the charm, setting the stage for an unforgettable few days.

Boracay’s beaches lived up to the hype. White Beach, with its powdery sand and crystal-clear waters, became our home base, while Puka Beach offered a more secluded escape. Sipping cocktails on the shore, we watched boats of all kinds pull up to the beach, bringing in fresh faces eager to soak in the island’s magic. The real adventure began when we set off on an island-hopping tour, searching for the best snorkeling spots. Crocodile Island did not disappoint—the water was unbelievably clear, and the fish were everywhere, making for a surreal underwater experience.

For a bit of thrill, we found a cliff-jumping spot, though calling it “cliff jumping” was generous—it was more like launching off high, slightly questionable springboards into the sea. Sketchy? A little. Fun? Absolutely. The island’s zip line also delivered, offering an unreal aerial view of the coastline as we soared over the turquoise waters. It was the perfect way to see just how breathtaking Boracay really is.

As sunset approached, people began gathering along White Beach, ready for one of the most spectacular sights the island had to offer. The sky exploded into deep oranges and purples, casting a golden glow over the sand. Nearby, a local artist sculpted an intricate sandcastle, completely by hand—no hidden props, just patience, water, and pure skill. Meanwhile, the fish markets and street vendors kept the island buzzing, adding to the energy that made Boracay feel so alive.

The mix of adventure, relaxation, and local culture made this trip unforgettable. Whether it was snorkeling through crystal waters, sipping drinks on the beach, or navigating the packed, vibrant streets, Boracay had it all. If you haven’t been, put it on your list—you won’t regret it.
