Golf Day
by Mike250 on August 10th, 2008 in Family, Friends

My good mate Markus is moving back home to Germany. He’s been in Australia about as long as we have, moving to Australia with his girlfriend Nina mid last year to study. We met them by accident through a friend who found them lost on a mountain trail, and haven’t looked back. Needless to say we’re very sad that they are returning home. We’ve shared so many exploring Australia moments and have grown very close. A plus is that we now have connections when we decide to tour Europe. But we really hope they decide to move back and live here when they are done with University.

Yesterday was our last full day together, Markus and I joined another mate for a day of Golf. We had been out once before together and it was a shocker. I have nothing good to say about the day, we played terribly and the weather wasn’t good. We did have fun in spite of our abilities.

This time we played much better. Markus sunk a long putt and followed that up on the next hole with a sweet thirty foot putt. It was exciting stuff. The putt was so long that he actually ran to yank the flag just as the ball arrived at the hole, he identified that it looked like it might go in so he wanted to make sure the ball didn’t bounce off the flag pole. It was comical stuff and caught on film.

We all settled into some pretty decent drives and fairway shots after that. I chipped in for par on one hole, unfortunately no one was taking photo’s or video so you’ll have to take my word for it. It was a beautiful day and a lot more fun than last time. I have a great set of photo’s that can be found here: http://mike250.com/gallery/v/year/2008/august/

Enjoy!
